Maslak And Firqa

Maslak And Firqa

Maslak is an Arabic term derived from the root word ‘salaka’ which means to walk or to walk on a way. Maslak is a synonym for the term ‘madhab’ or way or school of thought. Thus if someone claims to follow the teachings or ways of Imam Abu Hanifa, his maslak or madhab would be termed ‘Hanafi’.

There are four famous Maslak in Islam i.e. Hanafi, Shafi,Maliki,Hanbalai. These all can be followed, A Muslim can be Hanafi, shafi, Maliki or Hanbali as Shaikh Sudais (Imam of Haram) has described it,his bayan can be watched here

And Firqa literally means a group,or a Jamaal'at,
Our beloved prophet SAW has predicted that the Ummah will be divided in 73 groups' All of them will be in Jahannam except one, that is called Firqa an_Najiyah

Firqa an-Najiyah means the community, the sect that is saved, that will be acquitted from any kind of punishment in the hereafter; it is also called Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l Jamaah. In other words, Firqa an-Najiyah means the large mass of people who accept and affirm and obey the decrees of the Qur’an and follow the same path of the Prophet (pbuh) and the his great Honored Companions.
In a hadith of the Prophet (pbuh) narrated by Abu Hurayra, the Prophet stated: “…My Ummah will divide into seventy-three different sects, all of which will be in Hell except the saved one ( Firqa an-Najiyah). He also described Firqa an-Najiyah to the Honored Companions who asked about it: “Those who follow my path and follow the path of Honored Companions who follow my path”.
This is why those who follow the path of Beloved Messenger of Allah, the Almighty are called Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l Jamaah, which means “the people of the Sunnah and the congregation”. In this sense, it is best to understand Firqa an-Najiyah as a large community believing in Allah’s Book, that is, in the Qur’an and straight path of the Prophet and the Honored Companions, and adopting and accepting the view of the community obedient to the Sunnah, that is, a majority of Muslims and believing in them.

Please can you provide me with proof of six extra takbeers for Eid salah

Question:

Please can you provide me with proof of six extra takbeers for Eid salah in the Hanafi Fiqh

Answer:

Bismillah

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

There are differences of opinions on the number of extra takbeers in the Eid Salah.

Imam Malik raḥimahullāh (may Allāh have mercy upon him) is of the view that there will be six extra takbeers in the first rakaat and five in the second takbeer. The extra takbeers will be done at the beginning of each rakaat.

Imam Ahmad and Imam Shafi are of the view that there will be seven takbbers in the first rakat and five in the second. The extra takbeers will also be done at the beginning of each rakaat.

Imam Abu Hanifa raḥimahullāh (may Allāh have mercy upon him) is of the view that there will be three extra takbeers at the beginning of the first rakaat and three takbeers at the end of the second rakaat. (Dars Tirmizi p.313 v.2)

The Hanafi evidence is as follows:

It is narrated from Makhool, who said, “Abu Aishah informed me that Saeed Ibn Al Aas asked Saaiduna Abu Musa Al-Ashari raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) and Saaiduna Hudhaifah Bin Yamaan raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) how the Prophet of Allahṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) used to perform the takbeer in the Eid of Al Adha and Al Fitr. Saaiduna Abu Musa raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) said, “He used to perform four takbeeraat (in each rakaat), just as in the janazah (funeral prayer).’ Saaiduna Hudhaifah Bin Yamaan raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) confirmed this and Saaiduna Abu Musa raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) said, ‘That is how I used to perform the takbeerat in Basrah for as long as I lived there.” (Sunan Abu Dawud p.163 v.1)

The second proof is the practice of Saaiduna Ibn Abbas Radiallahu Anhu, Saaiduna Mugherah Bin Shubah raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him), Saaiduna Abdullah Ibn Masood raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) and also other Companions.

The third evidence is the report from Ibrahim Nakhai as recorded in Sharh Maani al-Athar (p.239 v.1) The Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) passed away and the people were of different opinions regarding the takbeerat of the janazah prayer … (after some part of the narration, he continues) … They remained in this state until Saaiduna Abu Bakr raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) passed away. When Saaiduna Umar raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) assumed responsibility of leadership, he saw the differences of the people in this matter and it was unbearable for him. So he sent for some of the Companions of the Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) and said to them, “O you assembly of the companions of the Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him)! As long as you have differences among the people, they will differ after you. And when you come together on a matter, the people after you will have a consensus. So look for a way to come to a consensus in this matter.” And it was as if he had awakened them and they said, “Yes! What do you think (about this matter), O Ameer-ul-Mumineen? Advise us!” Saaiduna Umar raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) said, “No, you must advise me, for truly I am a mortal like yourselves.” So the issue was turned to them and they came to consensus that the takbeerat of the janaiz should be as the takbeerat of the Adha and Fitr: four takbeerat (i.e. including the takbeer tahremah etc.). So this issue was settled with that consensus. (Extracted from Dars Tirmizi p.314 –p.317 v.2)
